But the five BEST biscuits? I can’t come up with a decision that will satisfy EVERYONE.. BRITANNIA GOOD DAY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES AND PARLE HIDE AND SEEK BISCUITS.. Who can forget those simply sapid buttery biscuits with delicious chocolate chips (which melt in your mouth) embedded in them? They will fulfil all your chocolaty wishes and I have not met a single person who does not like them.. Britannia has a chocolate-brown cover, which reminds you of how delicious the biscuits are with those bits of chocolate in them.

Today’s biscuits of choice are Bahlsen Choco Leibniz, Orange Milk Chocolate Edition .. My only gripe is the slogan on the front of the packet: “More chocolate than a biscuit”.. I find it troublingly ambiguous, possibly meaning any of the following: Each unit contains proportionally more chocolate content than biscuit content.. (In which case it should be “more chocolate than biscuit”, surely? And I’m not entirely sure it’s true either.) Each unit contains more chocolate than “a biscuit” - i.e.. it is statistically more chocolatey than some notional “standard” biscuit.. (But what would such a standard be? Do they have Rich Tea in Germany? What if the standard is a Bourbon biscuit? Perhaps the could be of assistance on this one?) A more literary usage: the Choco Leibniz is “more chocolate than a biscuit”, in the sense that Darth Vader was said to be “more machine now than man”.

Unlike my earlier studies, which proved ‘the biscuit reflected the man’, I cannot think that the Bourbon Biscuit has anything in common with Raymond.. So why do they put so few of them in the Box of Biscuits? When the virgin box is opened, you can bet the Chocolate fingers are the first to go – even to the extent that the lower layer of biscuits is raided before all the Bourbons are eaten from the top layer ?
