  • . Remember the sticks in the Philippines? You get the idea! November 11 is known as Pepero Day here in Korea! It’s a marketing idea concocted by the makers of the popular snack.

  • . There is a kind of snack in Korea, made up of long, thin wafers dipped in chocolate, called "Pepero." The company that makes them (Lotte Confectionary Corporation) decided to designate November 11 as "Pepero Day" (11/11 looks like four Peperoes being held up vertically).
  • . This flagrant, but clever, marketing ploy worked like a charm, and in an unusual turnaround, the Japanese have started to celebrate a "Pocky Day" (named after a snack that's similar to Pepero) on 11/11.
