MY FATHER'S FAMILY

My parents are Francesco de Sanctis (1907 - 1976) and Maria Giuliani (1922). They got married in 1952. My mother is a homemaker, my father worked in the Bank of Italy. He studied in Sala Consilina (SA). He was an Official in the Royal Italian Army. In 1927 he became Secretary in the Bank of Italy, and worked in Naples, Brescia e Cremona (Lombardia). In 1932 he was changed in East Africa (Eritrea ed Etiopia, at Addis Abeba).

 

 

 

 

 

 

He came back to Italy at the end of 1937, just in time for meeting for the last time his father Notaio Potito in Castelgrande.

 

 

 

 

 

 

In January, 1938 he returned in Africa, and at the beginning of II World War he was made prisoner by the English. He remained as prisoner till 1947, in the concentration camps of Rhodesia and South Africa. He came back to Italy in 1947, and began again his work in the Bank of Italy. He retired from work in 1967.

 

My parents had 3 children: Dora Maria (1954), Claudio (1957) and Paolo (1962).

My sister is a teacher of Mathematics. She's married with a lawyer, Alfredo Maggi (1950). They've 2 children, Alessandro (1985) and Andrea (1991).

My brother is a jazz musician, a pianist, and is living in Mexico City.

He plays traditional jazz, ragtime and blues.

He's married to Vivianne Arroyo (1964). They have 2 children, Francesco (1992) and Maria (1996).
