BIOGRAPHY
Raffaello Di Biagio was born in Campiglia Marittima (Livorno) on 6 February, 1972. 

He started studying violin making under the guidance of M° Stefano Conia.

He attended the International School of Violin Making “A. Stradivari” in Cremona and successfully took his degree in 1998.

At the request of that same school he gave an inlaid viola , made after profound studies on the Hellier models by A: Stradivari, to its Museum.

He participated in many international competitions of violin making such as the International Competition of Violin Making held in Baveno in 1997 and the prestigious “Tchaikovskji” prize held in Moscow in 1998 by which he came to the attention of the international experts, in the field who considered him one of the most gifted Italian violin makers of his generation.

Currently Raffaello Di Biagio is engageding continuous activity in order to promote the knowledge of violin making.

He is a member of A.L.I. (Italian Violin Maker Association, professional section) and of the Violin Makers and Bow Makers Association “A. Stradivari” in Cremona.

He co-operates with many international societies in order to better his abilities both in violin making techniques and in musical art.

Famous violin players such as M° Eugene Sarbu, M° Salvatore Accardo, M° Derek Ochse and many musicians who play with several international orchestras such as the Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra, Denmark Philarmonic and Quartetto Italiano play his instruments.

For years he has been present with his instruments at the international exhibition (“Perugia Classico”) where he has received important rewards and approval and M° Marcello Abbado has invited him to hold a yearly personal exhibition at the Bocconi University in Milan as a parallel event to the international violin competition “Michlangelo Abbado”.

His violins are periodically exhibited at the “Exhibition” in Los Angeles, Portland, Atlanta and Cincinnati.

The Chinese Ministry for Culture in Pechino invited Raffaello Di Biagio to the exhibition devoted to the Cremonese violin.

Then he took part in the International Exhibition for musical instruments at Esztergom (Hungary).

Currently he carries on an intense activity as a violin maker in his workshop.
