First Announcement and Call for Papers
Call for Papers: After the creation of the European Association of Chinese Linguistics and its First Meeting at Paris in June 1998, we are very pleased to announce that the Second Conference of the European Association of Chinese Linguistics (CEACL - 2) will be held at the University of Rome "la Sapienza", Italy, 6-8 September, 2001. The meeting will give scholars and students of Chinese Linguistics in Europe an opportunity to meet again and to exchange the results of their research activities, thus contributing to a better understanding of the research trends of Chinese linguistics studies in Europe among similar researches carried on in other part of the world.
Papers in all areas of Chinese linguistics (i.e., Phonetics, Phonology, Syntax, Semantics, Lexicology, Dialectology or Sociolinguistics) are invited for 20-minute talks.
Organising Committee: Federico Masini, Patrizia Dadò, Alessandra Brezzi, Paolo De Troia.
Conference languages: English, French, Italian.
Abstracts. Abstracts should be camera-ready, limited to one page (A4 size), neatly type-written, single spaced, in 12-point type, with 2,5 cm margins. Two copies are required, one with the author’s full name and institution, and one without. The abstract should be sent by mail (and, if possible, also by e-mail). The deadline for receipt of abstracts is March 31, 2001. Letters of acceptance will be sent out by May 01, 2001.

Registration and accommodation. The conference registration fee will be Italian Lira 60.000 (Euro 30,98). More detail and information concerning both registration and accommodation will be included in the next circular.
