MODEM D LINK DSL ETHERNET

[help me] di-713p: slow connection on ethernet, fast on 802.11
router: d-link di-713p, in pppoe mode (the only way i made it work with the modem) here is what i already checked: - connecting directly with isp provided usb dsl modem: works perfectly - connecting directly with my dsl-300t modem:
dlink dsl-200 … its very different! and dodo gives bad service
however, i’m comfortable connecting to the internal configuration pages of most adsl modems, and having complete control over all the modem features… this is just so different… but its probably dirt-cheap for dlink to make,
connecting adsl modem into wan router?
therefore my questions are these: can i use the wpn824 router with say a d-link dsl 300t adsl modem that has an ethernet interace? (connect the ethernet output of the dsl 300t into the wan port of the wpn824) if that's possible,
