. For nearly 80 years, the choice in chocolate digestives was between either plain or milk chocolate or to go without.. However, in the last year or two, McVitie’s have been expanding their digestive range at a rate that is almost frightening, coming after 80 years of everything being the same.. First came the caramel and chocolate digestive, followed by the Chocolate and Orange digestive earlier this year.. Now, all of a sudden, there are two new variants, a white chocolate digestive and one I’m personally very interested in, the Chocolate Mint digestive.. The Chocolate and Orange digestives were a bit of a disappointment.. The taste of them was fine, but the digestive seemed overcooked and too crumbly in that version.. Of course, no digestive is going to win a prize in a biscuit beauty contest (my vote would go to the garibaldi, but that’s just me) but these have a lovely wheat colour, which is a couple of shades lighter than I was used to in the orange variant and suggests it’s going to be a quality digestive under the mint chocolate, rather than the slightly dry and crumbly version that came with the chocolate and orange topping.
